Pearl and diamond have been paired in fine jewelry for as long as there has been fine jewelry to speak of. The Luna Royale does not ignore that history but it does not simply repeat it either. We looked at what makes pearl and diamond work together at their best and found that the answer is almost always about restraint on the diamond side. When diamonds compete with pearl, neither stone wins. In the Luna Royale, the diamonds are present to frame and to accent, not to compete, and the result is a set where the pearl is always the primary presence.
The 5mm pearl in the pendant alongside the larger companion pearl gives the piece a sense of movement and growth rather than static symmetry. We chose this arrangement because it reflects more closely how pearls exist in nature, in gradation rather than uniformity, and because it makes the pendant more interesting to look at over the years of wearing it rather than less. The 0.012 carats of diamond in the pendant is a small number and it is exactly the right number for this design.
The full set brings this same logic to the earrings and ring, each piece holding its pearl as the centrepiece with the gold and diamond work building outward from it rather than surrounding it in a way that reduces it. The weight across all three pieces keeps the set light enough for extended daily wear, which matters considerably for pearl jewelry where the pieces tend to be worn close to the skin.
We made the Luna Royale for the woman who finds that pearl sets are often too heavy in their design or too timid in their execution. This one is neither. It is confident and light at the same time, which is the combination we were aiming for from the beginning.
